Staff Development

The pages in this section are designed to provide you with information and materials that will support you and line managers to develop and support NHS library services staff.

Some of the materials are provided as a direct result of the work programmes of the SHALL Staff Development Group and its predecessors the NLH Staff Development Group and the NHS Library and Knowledge Development Network (LKDN) Workforce Development Group.

Sections within Staff Development and Support include:

Agenda for Change - find out about library profiles, pay scales, terms and conditions of service and support for AfC Reviews.

e-Learning - A collection of resources created by members of the SHALL Staff Development Group (SDG) in November 2011. If you have any suggestions for additions to this list please contact a member of the group.

NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework - find out about the NHS KSF and how to develop KSF outlines for library staff.

Portfolio Building - a collection of resources originally created by members of the former NLH Staff Development Group in June 2008. This group was replaced by the SHALL Staff Development Group in April 2009.

Talent Management Toolkit - a self-directed learning resource aimed to assist those who wish to implement talent management schemes in their library and information services and need to seek out resources to meet those requirements.
