Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals

CILIP is the professional body for library and information workers. It has a number of health related groups whcih includes:

Commissioning handbook

It enables information professionals to pool their knowledge of resources and good practice so that we can better support NHS staff involved in commissioning health services.

Current Awareness Service for Health (CASH)

CASH is a collaborative service provided by librarians from around England who monitor and capture content from primary care, secondary care and mental health.

E-Learning Repository

NHS Evidence

The principle aim of the NHS Evidence service is to provide easy access to a comprehensive evidence base for everyone in health and social care who takes decisions about treatments or the use of resources – including clinicians, public health professionals, commissioners and service managers – thus improving health and patient care.

Society of Chief Librarians

The Society of Chief Librarians leads the debate on the future of public libraries and advocates for continuous improvement of the public library service on behalf of local people.
